What is MultiFactor Authentication?
The computer world is full of acronyms, one of which is MFA (Multi Factor Authentication). What does this mean. Well to put simply when you try and login to a network you are normally asked for two things, your user name and your password. With MFA there is an extra question. The network is setup to send you an extra code (This might be in the form of a text message to your mobile phone) There will be a popup box which will ask for the code or key that has been sent to you. This is designed to reduce, if not eliminate, the chance for hackers to gain entry to your network. They won’t get the code or key required.
